In our daily lives, everyday, we learn something. We learn mostly through getting feedback on the things that we do and one of the most effective methods of feedback is audible. Whether its your boss telling you that you did a good (or bad) job or through a warning tone that sounds when something needs to be done. Learning to play the game of golf and training your swing is no different. Sonic Golf has one of the best audible trainers we have ever seen.

Dr. Robert Grober, the inventor and developer of the Sonic Golf System, has always been a golf nut. He loves the game and is always looking to improve, like most of us. He came up with the idea that if we could hear when we are reaching our full swing speed and also listen to our tempo, we could fine tune our game and get better results through this feedback. The Sonic Golf System was born to do just this.

Comprising of a sound unit that fits into the end of the club and through the grip, and a receiver that you just plug the headphones into, this unit is quite unique. Used by Hank Haney, known to be the best teacher in the world and coach to Tiger, this unit is getting more and more popular and it's easy to see why.

Here is the deal..... remove your grips from the clubs that you want to practice with and replace them with the supplied "Golf Pride" grips that come with the system. On these grips which, by the way, are very good quality grips made by one of the biggest grip makers in the game, there is a removable end cap. Once the grips have been installed, just remove the end cap and slide the transmitter down the shaft and seat it in the grip end. There is a little grove that it seats into so don't worry about it coming lose, it won't. Next, get the receiver and plug your headphones into it. Switch both the receiver and transmitter on and put your headphones on. Enter Darth Vader! The sound that you get when you swing the club is amazing. It sounds like you are a Jedi in training!

The whole idea is that you make your swings, which you can actually do while hitting balls, and the sound will tell you a number of things. Firstly, you can listen to your tempo. This is one of the crucial elements to a good golf swing. It will also tell you when you are generating you maximum swing speed. Some people who "cast" the club will benefit tremendously from this as it allows you to adjust your swing to get the right release. The sound is loudest at the fastest point in your swing so it's easy to adjust your training to get the best results.

Some of the best players in the world are using this system now. Players like Vijay Singh who use it on almost every practice shot on the range. Hank Haney used it in the Golf Chanel show "The Haney Project" to help try to correct Charles Barkleys swing faults and made great improvements.
